Our Story

Once upon a time and is still there
It all began in 1933 in a small artisan workshop in the heart of the Eternal City, where fountain pens and writing articles were made, by hand and with respect for tradition. Campo Marzio has its roots in history and connects with international scenarios, thanks to a legacy that manages to combine the characters of tradition with contemporaneity and aesthetic beauty with functionality.
Knowing how to deal with change
After World War II, the store became a workshop specializing in the repair and sale of fountain pens. Two important economic-social changes led to the deep crisis in the sector: the spread of the ballpoint pen and, later, industrialization. However, the Campo Marzio workshop knew how to distinguish itself by producing quality items sought after by discerning customers and collectors. Over time, the product offerings expanded to include bags, accessories and gift items, maintaining the Italian style and defining the functional and colorful identity of the brand that is now appreciated even abroad.
Acknowledgements and looking to the future
Great success and recognition comes from the special collaboration with the Holy See, which starting with the celebration of the Jubilee of 2000 commissioned Campo Marzio with collections of fine fountain pens for the Vatican Museums. Thanks to these projects, the brand fully enters the world of personalization, and begins an evolutionary path that will allow new boutique openings in important shopping streets around the world. Today Campo Marzio is a leader in its sector with a distribution network that boasts over five hundred stores in more than thirty countries. Thanks to the new strategic line and the contemporary nature of its stylistic direction, Campo Marzio has consolidated its values and is looking to the future with a fresh image strong from its important origins.
